Clothing Recycling Program
It's an honor and privilege for me to work with so many amazing organizations, communities, and municipalities across the country to offer a sustainable alternative for disposing of unwanted clothing and textiles. In 2012, I spearheaded the first of it's kind- a mail in textile recycling program which I called TrashN2Cash. The first year we diverted more than 20 tons of clothing from our waste streams. Since then TrashN2Tees clothing recycling programs and drop boxes are available nationwide- together we've saved 4,012,363,711 cubic yards of landfills space. What items are accepted?
What happens to materials donated?
The clothing will be transported to a
facility where it is sorted into different
grades: including usable/non-usable,
cotton scrap, cotton blend scrap and synthetics. The materials are later
sold for reuse as clothing, linens, etc or to recycling markets
that turn materials into wiping rags, fiber for car seats and
insulation. Items collected may also be repurposed and used in
TrashN2Tees designs.
Is my donation tax deductible?
